Woman shot to death, man injured in late-night Salem shooting

A 40-year-old woman was shot to the death and another man was shot in northeast Salem at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Salem police.

In a news release, the agency identified the woman as Jennifer Black of Salem. It didn’t identify the man.

Police said they were called by a report of gunshots in the parking lot of Pine Street Pub, at 460 Pine St. N.E., at the intersection of Broadway.

The two victims were taken to Salem Health, where the woman died.

“The other victim is still receiving treatment and no update on his condition is available,” the police statement said.

Police established a perimeter and conduct a search with a police dog but couldn’t find the gunman.

This is the latest of a series of shootings across Salem in recent weeks.
