The Polk County Commission will review a “memorandum of agreement” with several government bodies in the area to create a development council for health services in Polk and Marion counties at its weekly meeting Wednesday.

The agreement is between Polk and Marion counties, the cities of  Independence, Keizer, Monmouth, Salem and Silverton, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Salem-Keizer School District, the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency, Mid-Willamette Valley COG, Union Gospel Mission of Salem and United Way of Mid-Willamette Valley.

Additionally, the commission will recognize several employees for their long tenure with the county.

As usual, the commission will conclude its meeting in executive session, where it can privately discuss issues like personnel matters or the purchase of property.
