AGENDA: Salem-Keizer board to elect new chair, swear in new members

A July 16 meeting will be the first for newly elected school board members Satya Chandragiri and Danielle Bethell.

They’ll be sworn in and the board will elect a new chair and vice chair for the 2019-20 school year.

Board members will consider a safe and healthy schools plan and a summer meals proclamation.

They’ll vote on renewing a contract with the district’s legal counsel, Paul Dakopolos, who has served in that role since the early 1990s. The contract rates are the same as they were for 2018-19.

Board members will hear reports on Superintendent Christy Perry’s job performance and compliance with her job description.

Following the business session, board members will meet in executive session to discuss labor negotiations and possible litigation. Executive sessions are closed to the public, and no decisions can be made during them.
