City struggles to hire violence reduction coordinator
Good evening, Salem.
Nurses and community health workers will be available Tuesday at Peace Plaza for health screenings and resources.
Northwest Human Services' outreach van will be at the plaza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The plaza is located between City Hall, 555 Liberty St. S.E. and the Salem Public Library.
A nurse can provide blood pressure and heart rate checks, minor wound care and first aid kits. Health workers can also provide water, snacks, hygiene kits and help people with applications for health insurance, food assistance and homeless services.
