Thespians at North Salem High School are putting on their first production of the year starting this evening.
"The Ash Girl" is a dark, feminist retelling of Cinderella. When the prince throws a ball, "Ashgirl must fight to overcome her bullying sisters, her indifferent mother, and her own self-doubts," the play description says.
Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the school auditorium, 765 14th Ave. N.E. Tickets are $6 for students and $9 for adults and can be purchased online or at the door.
Also tonight is a Salem Peace Walk meeting at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Church, 546 High St N.E. The walks are an effort from local faith and community groups to promote peace and connection in areas of Salem most affected by violence and shootings. Read more about the walks here.
