Salem Health held a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, Oct. 1, to celebrate a new Breast Care Center which will serve over 400 patients a year, according to the organization.
The new center is located on Salem Hospital’s campus, 875 Oak St. S.E., and features larger exam rooms and two procedure rooms dedicated to diagnosing and treating breast cancer.

Salem Health’s program had outgrown its original breast care center, established in 2019 within the gynecologic oncology space. It’s one of the most common forms of cancer bringing people into Salem Health, according to the organization.
The space will also have breast nurse navigators providing support with financial, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients, and will help connect patients with community resources for prosthetics.
