Salem Health is pushing back against claims that it’s attempting to monopolize cardiology care in the area by pressuring patients to switch providers and limiting referrals and access to information.
The health care provider filed a motion to dismiss an antitrust lawsuit followed by the Oregon Heart Center in September. In it, Salem Health argued that becoming more competitive is not grounds for an antitrust lawsuit, and that there’s plenty of competition in nearby cities.
