Good evening, Salem.

People planning to be downtown tonight should be aware of a planned power outage in and around the Chemeketa Parkade. 

This morning, the city of Salem announced a temporary power outage from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday while crews replace a power cable downtown.

The outage will affect the Chemeketa Parkade, 300 Commercial St. N.E., along with its elevators which will be shut off at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The city is asking people to drive slowly in the area and be cautious if using the stairs in the parkade late at night. If people have any questions about the outage, they can call 503-540-2405 or email [email protected].
