Good evening, Salem.

Two Salem high school culinary teams will compete Monday for glory, scholarships and a chance at the national spotlight.

Teams from CTEC and South Salem High School are among seven schools competing at the Oregon ProStart Championships. Culinary teams must cook a three-course meal in one hour using only a butane burner and no running water. Management teams present a restaurant concept to a panel of judges.

The competition is at the Salem Convention Center.
