Good evening, Salem.

President Donald Trump was inaugurated for a second term today. The ceremony was moved inside due to freezing weather, meaning some Salem-area Republicans who traveled for the event missed the ceremony, but still caught other events.

We caught up with two local attendees about their experience in D.C. and hopes for the next four years.

Our journalists also attended a town hall U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden held in Salem over the weekend and took photos at a rally opposing Trump's administration, which drew hundreds to the Oregon Capitol.

As the new administration takes office, our aim at Salem Reporter remains unchanged: let you know what's happening and how it affects Salem, and let you make up your own mind from there.

We'll continue to keep a close eye on executive orders and changes to immigration policy the president has promised to make in the early days of his second term and be alert to local implications.

Here's some of today's news. Catch all of our reports anytime on our website.
