School board passes immigration resolution, golf course changes hands
Good evening, Salem.
There's volunteer work aplenty in Salem for people who like numbers and care about the community.
The Salem-Keizer School District wants to fill three seats on its budget committee, which reviews and recommends a budget to the school board for adoption, typically in May.
The entire school board sits on the budget committee, alongside seven appointed volunteers.
Meanwhile, the city of Salem will form a new group of outside financial experts to review the city budget and look for ways to cut spending and operate more efficiently. We have more details on that below and will watch the process closely.
