Liberty House, Salem's children's advocacy center, recently earned national accreditation after several years of work.
The recognition comes from the National Children’s Alliance, a professional organization for centers that work to prevent child abuse, assess children and help them heal. About half of Oregon's 24 centers are accredited.
Liberty House opened in 1999 and has served about 25,000 children in Marion and Polk counties.
"Liberty House will continue to provide the excellent services it always has. The difference it will make will be the public recognition of our excellence," CEO Alison Kelley said.
