Good evening, Salem.

A group of Salem business and nonprofit executives will hold a final meeting tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 7, reviewing the city budget for suggested efficiencies.

The public meeting is at the Salem Civic Center in room 325 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The meeting is open to the public and also streamed on YouTube.

On Tuesday, the committee, which was tasked with finding ways for the city to save money, got a chance to ask questions of city department heads, including Salem Police Chief Trevor Womack and Salem Fire Chief David Gerboth.

Committee members indicated that they plan to provide the Salem City Council with a report on its work during its meeting on Feb. 24. Tuesday’s meeting is available to watch online.

We'll have more about the committee's work after their meeting tomorrow.
