Student reading improving, shots fired into Tesla dealership
Good evening, Salem.
Salem Health announced today that it will no longer accept Regence insurance, ending negotiations between the two.
Regence has been out of network with Salem Health since Jan. 1 after the two failed to reach a contract agreement but negotiations were continuing.
The announcement Wednesday means accessing health care will be more difficult for tens of thousands of Salem residents with Regence coverage, who will have to either travel to other hospitals and clinics or pay for care upfront.
We'll have a more detailed story tomorrow on what lies ahead for patients and how things got to this point.
