The National Weather Service isn't mincing words in their latest forecast: plan on staying home starting early Thursday morning.
"If you leave the safety of being indoors, you are putting your life at risk,” the agency said in its ice storm warning just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Some events scheduled for Thursday have been canceled, but city and Salem-Keizer School District officials said they'll assess road conditions in the early morning before deciding whether to close for the day or shift operations. We'll monitor the throughout the evening and update our story below with any closures announced Wednesday.
