A warming shelter at Salem First Presbyterian Church will again be open tonight as temperatures are forecasted to drop to a low of 31 degrees.
The church is at 770 Chemeketa St. N.E., a few blocks east of the downtown core. Doors open at 7 p.m., and adults along with pets are welcome. Read more about the warming network here.
Air quality is also expected to worsen over the coming days.
An air stagnation advisory is also in effect for Salem through early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Light wind means pollutants will build up in the air over time, potentially affecting people with respiratory issues, the agency said.
