Good morning, Salem.

One Salem-Keizer School Board race is a toss-up after Marion County election officials finished tallying most ballots Thursday.

Jennifer Parker still leads Angelo Arredondo Baca in the race for zone 3, representing south Salem, but only by 294 votes out of more than 40,000 cast. More than 500 ballots returned by voters in the district weren't accepted due to signature issues, Clerk Bill Burgess said, and voters have until June 10 to correct those.

Ballots arriving via mail until next Tuesday will still be counted. All that means it may be some time until a winner is clear.

Other races have shaken out mostly as they appeared on election night - Salem's levy is passing with almost 58% of the vote, and Chemeketa Community College's bond is passing with 53% in favor. Mai Vang remains the leader in the three-way race for a vacant Salem City Council seat.
