Today marks a year since a daytime shooting in Bush’s Pasture Park left 16-year-old José Vázquez Valenzuela dead, two teenagers injured and another in juvenile custody.
The shooting led to widespread changes in school security procedures and gave momentum to an effort by local law enforcement to curb rising violence among teenagers.
