Good morning, Salem.

Streets in downtown Salem will close Thursday afternoon and on Saturday for events, the Salem Police Department said.

On Thursday, streets near the Oregon Capitol will be closed from 12-2 p.m. for a permitted event, police said, without providing further details. Lane closures will be in effect on State Street between Northeast Cottage Street and Northeast Waverly Street.

On Saturday, multiple streets downtown will close from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Salem Capital Pride Parade and Block Party. Closures will be in place along several blocks of Northeast Court and High streets near the Capitol, and along State Street. The parade begins at noon, and streets along the route will reopen after the parade finishes.

Two blocks of State Street, from Front to Liberty streets, will remain closed for the party until 6 p.m.
