If you're planning to park in downtown Salem after Thursday, you may want to download a new app.

Paid street parking downtown starts July 10 and will cost $1.50 per hour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Parking in city-owned parkades remains free for up to three hours.

You can pay using cash, coin or card at pay stations located downtown. If you're a frequent parker, the Beep Beep Salem app will let you
