Turner Fire mop-up, the brothers behind the Grand Theatre
Good morning, Salem.
One Salem firefighter was injured Wednesday afternoon as a major grass fire burned acres of state-owned farmland between Salem and Turner.
The firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters had the blaze largely contained Wednesday evening and were monitoring for hot spots.
We'll continue to monitor the mop-up effort and any news on the injured firefighter.
Today also begins paid parking in downtown Salem. From our downtown office, we'll keep an eye on how that unfolds and follow up as developments warrant.
