A driver hit a teen girl in a crosswalk outside Kennedy Elementary School in Keizer Monday morning, leaving her with minor injuries.
The driver, a woman in her mid-60s, was turning left onto Northeast Noren Avenue from Northeast Keizer Avenue and failed to yield to the 17-year-old in the crosswalk, said Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department.
The girl was knocked to the ground and had minor scraped and bruises, Wenning said. Because of her age, she was taken by ambulance to a hospital to be evaluated. Wenning described her as "in good spirits."
Police cited the driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, driving without a license and driving without insurance, he said.
