Council considers charging large aircraft to land in Salem
Good morning, Salem.
Salem city councilors tonight will consider charging aircraft to land at the city-owned airport, and a large increase in medical waste disposal fees.
The airport fees are an effort to balance the airport budget following a significant increase in operating costs from the return of commercial flights in 2023.
We've got more on that below, along with a proposed hike in what Salem Hospital will pay to dispose of medical waste.
