Good morning, Salem.

An evening of high winds and heavy rain left thousands in Salem without power heading into the night.

Portland General Electric reported several major Marion County outages Monday evening caused by high winds.

And Salem City Council voted Monday to ask voters for a property tax increase in May. The measure would raise money to avoid drastic cuts to city services, costing the average Salem home about $229 per year.
