Good morning, Salem.

Next month, the Keizer REC is hosting a community discussion on the impact of disconnection from family, friends and neighbors led by an internationally recognized speaker.

Dr. Amelia Franck Meyer will lead the event and talk about her work on the human need for belonging, keeping families whole and empowering communities. The event is organized by Community Business and Education Leaders, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and neighborhoods.

Salem and Keizer residents interested in supporting families and neighborhoods and meeting other community members are encouraged to attend.

The event will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, and will include free breakfast for in-person attendees. The REC is located at 3500 River Rd. N. People can also attend via Zoom. To register or learn more about the event, information is available here.
