Good morning, Salem.

Monday was an eventful day at Salem City Hall, with City Manager Keith Stahley abruptly resigning his post. City councilors huddled for a private session to “consider the dismissal or discipline of an employee" before voting unanimously in a public meeting to accept his resignation.

City councilors and spokespeople have so far been unwilling to publicly explain what led up to the resignation. We'll continue pressing for answers on your behalf and report what we learn.

We also apologize for a technical glitch that kept our newsletter from going out yesterday.

Here's some of today's news. Read all our latest coverage anytime on our website.
