Vietnam Memorial revealed, pine siskens visit Salem yard
Good morning, Salem.
Salem’s Pentacle Theatre is holding open auditions for the musical “Big Fish,” based on the celebrated Daniel Wallace novel and Tim Burton’s film adaptation.
The story follows William, the son of a traveling salesman, as he investigates the truth behind his fathers larger-than life anecdotes.
“Overflowing with heart and humor, Big Fish is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger than life itself,” a Pentacle summary reads.
The auditions will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 1 - 5 p.m. at Pentacle Theatre’s downtown rehearsal studio at 197 Liberty St. S.E.
They’re casting actors to play eleven male-presenting roles and six female-presenting roles. Actors should come prepared with a short musical selection. An accompanist will be available for those who don’t bring a recording, but the actor should bring sheet music.
Those auditioning should also wear comfortable, dance appropriate shoes. Those who can tap dance should bring their tap shoes.
Rehearsals will be generally from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, starting in January. For more details on the audition, see the Pentacle’s website.
