Tonight, Santa Claus is coming to Riverfront Park along with horses, festive holiday music and thousands of glowing lights.
The city’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting event kicks off at 5:30 p.m., and will include carriage rides, a scavenger hunt and a chance to meet Santa. The park is at 200 Water St. N.E.
50,000 LED lights will shine, including a newly added lighted teddy bear. Starting at 5:45 p.m., there will be free cookies and cocoa donated by Roth’s IGA.
Mayor Chris Hoy will light up the main holiday tree at 6 p.m. The event ends at 8 p.m., and the lights will stay up through Dec. 31. See the city’s website for more information.
