Nominations are open for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce's 74th First Citizen Awards, which will be held in March.
Last year's First Citizen honoree, Sam Skillern, is a longtime nonprofit leader who's worked to get faith communities more involved in service to Salem. He's retiring at the end of the year after almost three decades at the helm of the Salem Leadership Foundation, passing the reins to Kyle Dickinson.
