DEA crash lawsuit, Riverfront park playground plans
Good morning, Salem.
Expect a large demonstration Saturday at the Oregon Capitol.
Salem is one of hundreds of cities across the U.S. hosting a "Hands Off" rally to protest President Donald Trump's administration. The event is organized by a coalition of liberal and progressive groups, including Salem Indivisible, 50501, MoveOn.org and Rise & Resist.
The group will gather at 900 Court St. at noon Saturday. The rally goes until 3 p.m.
"We will unite to say HANDS OFF our democracy, our healthcare, our social security, our Medicaid and Medicare, our jobs, our schools, our bodies, our LGBTQ+ rights, our immigrants, our data, our wallets and the list goes on," organizers said in a news release.
Anti-Trump protests have been a regular occurrence in Salem since Inauguration Day, though most to date have been held on weekday afternoons.
