Good morning, Salem.

Thousands of high school seniors across Salem will celebrate earning a diploma this week.

Starting this morning, we're bringing you some of their stories.

Each year, Salem Reporter profiles a graduate from each high school in the Salem-Keizer School District. Our aim is to show a range of students and their success stories. Some have excelled in math, theater or baseball. Some are leaders in their schools. Some had significant personal obstacles, but persevered.

We'll also have photos later in the week from the Roberts High School graduation ceremony. As a small newsroom, we can't be at every ceremony or celebration. The smaller Roberts ceremony honors students who often had to overcome other challenges to finish their schooling, including Salem's teen parent graduates. We hope that spotlighting their achievements offers our community some hope and good news.

Here's some of today's news. Catch our latest reporting anytime on our website.
