Meet a dedicated school library worker, plus weekend events
Good morning, Salem.
Looking for something to do with the kids on Saturday? Come learn how to make ice cream and race LEGO cars at Powerland Heritage Park at 3995 Brooklake Road N.E. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the annual S.T.E.A.M.’d Up for Kids event.
Tickets cost $10 per person and children 12 and under can enjoy for free. Trolley rides are an additional $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Tickets are available at the gate and online for purchase.
The family event is a chance for young people to hang out outside and learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and the rich history of the 62-acre park. The event also offers train and trailer rides, a toy truck play area for younger children, and a chance ride the double-decker trolley.
