Larry Tokarski, co-founder, is a Salem businessman

Lawrence E. Tokarski (Larry) is president of Mountain West Investment Corporation.  He was born in Hamtramck, Michigan, and attended Catholic schools for 12 years.  He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Business Administration.  He worked four years for Shell Oil Company doing marketing in the Willamette Valley.

In 1973, he began his real estate career in Salem.  In 1977 he founded and managed for over 20 years one of the nation’s most successful nationally affiliated real estate offices-Coldwell Banker Mountain West Real Estate in Salem.  During this time he also founded and managed Mt. West Investment Corporation, an entity responsible for the development and building of over a billion dollars of real estate, including over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial and residential facilities and more than 30 subdivisions.  He was also involved in the development and building of 47 retirement communities in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, and Nevada.

Larry is very involved in local charitable organizations and has served on many committees and boards.   He is especially interested in helping the youth and elderly, and donates both his time and money to these worthwhile causes.  A few of the organizations that he is involved in are:  Catholic Community Services, Marion-Polk County Food Share, Family Building Blocks, Chemeketa College Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, and Salem-Keizer Schools. 

Larry enjoys spending time with his wife Elva, dog Bentley, son and grandchildren. In his leisure time he polishes his golfing and woodworking skills.
