Those wanting to help keep homeless people warm this winter can help by donating coats, blankets, hats, mittens, and socks in Salem.

Windermere Real Estate has a coat and blanket drive running through Dec. 17 to collect items for the Homeless Outreach and Advocacy Project and Be Bold Street Ministries.

People who want to help can drop off items for Homeless Outreach and Advocacy Project can go to 4285 Commercial St. S.E., Suite 100 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations for Be Bold Street Ministries can be dropped off at 960 Liberty St. S.E. #250 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Scott Mitchelson, president of Windermere Services Company in Oregon and SW Washington, said every year he’s amazed by the generosity of neighbors.

“Share the Warmth is a prime example of how Windermere Real Estate brokers and the community at large come together to ensure our neighbors have the warm clothing and other essentials they need throughout the winter,” he said in a statement.
